60 minutes of DH: Transkribus and the potentials of digitization.

With the continuing digitization of library and archival collections, historians have access to more sources than ever before. Digital methods create opportunities to work with familiar sources in different ways. This requires transforming sources from a scanned image into machine-readable text, using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) or Hand-Written Text Recognition (HTR). Jonas Kjøller-Rasmussen will give an introduction to a powerful tool (Transkribus), including a basic workflow, (dis)advantages, and considerations for input effort and output expectations.
