AI at UCPH: From staff adoption to translanguaging opportunities in contemporary higher education

Our talk presents findings from a survey on ENGEROM teaching staff's attitudes towards, adoption, and integration of AI in teaching practices. We explore current AI tool preferences, proficiency levels and patterns of AI use across various teaching tasks. Building on these insights, we examine how AI adoption at ENGEROM can support and enhance translanguaging strategies in an international educational setting. We consider the potential of AI to facilitate a more inclusive multilingual campus environment, support participants who are not fluent in the primary language of instruction and prepare graduates for a globalised workforce. We invite reflection on the opportunities and challenges of leveraging AI-supported translanguaging in contemporary university education, particularly in multilingual and multicultural contexts.
