Beskrivelse
In the ENIGMA project aim to investigate the spatio-temporal relationship between foreign outbreaks and Danish cases of avian influenza. This involves estimating migratory routes, travel times, and habitats for relevant bird species. We develop a continuous monitoring system to track foreign avian influenza outbreaks and estimate the risk of introduction to Denmark. This system will be used by KU SUND for official purposes and research projects. The system will also incorporate data from other risk factors, such as the introduction of wild birds from other countries. Additionally, a simulation model is created to estimate the risk of local avian influenza spread within Denmark during outbreaks. This model will be based on literature estimates and data from poultry farms and spatio-temporal information on selected bird species. The development of this model is part of a 3-year PhD project.
