During this research stay at the Polar Cooperation Research Center, Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies, Kobe University, Stella was hosted by an expert in international polar law, Prof. Akiho Shibata. Prof. Shibata guided her on her research and connected her with actors relevant for the empirical part of her thesis. During her stay, Stella also met with other relevant scholars, such as Prof. Timo Koivurova and Dr. Zia Madani. Further, Stella presented her PhD project at the ISAR-7 conference in Tokyo and at a seminar at Kobe University. She also attended other relevant research events, such as a seminar with Evan Bloom in Kobe and the Arctic Circle Japan Forum in Tokyo.
