The TWG’s two-day workshop “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Affect and Emotion Research in Media and Communication Studies” will offer a space for in-depth discussions among scholars of diverse backgrounds from all over Europe and beyond. Participants will gather in the Department of Communication at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. The aim of the workshop is twofold: Firstly, it allows scholars to present their ongoing research and engage in the aforementioned interdisciplinary exchange about the interrelation of media and communication with affect and emotion. Secondly, we see a shared challenge across disciplines in how to research affect and emotion. Hence, we also encourage submissions with a critical focus on methodology and methods around affect and emotion to start a conversation about (un)successful study designs, research instruments, and operationalizations.
