At this seminar, Jesper Jarl Fanø will present some thoughts on the implementation of the new carbon reduction requirements in the shipping sector. The main focus will be on contractual implications of the CII rating system and the potential enforcement through port state control.

Jesper Jarl Fanø is Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager at A. P Møller Mærsk and the author of the Monograph: Enforcement of the 2020 sulphur limit for marine fuels: Restrictions and possibilities for port States to impose fines under UNCLOS, 2019.
