The cross-linguistic symposium on the role of syntax in reading comprehension

Understanding texts requires understanding sentences, but until recently there has been relatively little research on the relation between individual differences in the ability to comprehend syntactic information in sentences and text reading comprehension. This on-line symposium gathers researchers studying this relationship across multiple languages. A special focus area of the symposium is how the ability to comprehend syntactic information can or should be measured.
