Primære forskningsområder

I am an Associate Professor of Environmental and Climate Change Law at the Center for International Law adn Governance (CILG). I obtained  my PhD on the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions from international aviation and maritime transport in 2015 under the supervision Professor Peter Pagh. My research interests coalesce around issues of environmental and climate change law and governance. I have a keen interest in the international climate negotiations, and the regulatory processes at the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Maritime Organization, as well as the developments at the EU level.

Among others, I have been teaching climate change law for the last 10 years, and I am the founder of TRAMEREN (Transatlantic Maritime Emissions Research Network with NYU School of Law) and ArcEnGov (Arctic Environmental and Climate Change Governance Network with Canadian Research Institutions). I cooperate with students in the organization of sustainability and climate related events, such as the Climate Breakfast Seminar Series and the Interdisciplinary Seminars on Climate, Energy and Sustainability, which I lead.

I supervise PhD projects since 2018.

My main areas of interest include:

  • Environmental and climate change law and policy
  • Aviation and maritime transport sectors
  • Law-making processes at international and EU levels
  • Environmental taxation, carbon pricing and related fiscal measures
  • Renewable Energy
  • Fragmentation of international law and regime interaction
  • Environmental and climate-related regulation of the Arctic
  • Ocean Governance
  • Corporate Environmental Responsibility
