• Biological control of plant diseases - from isolation of potential beneficial microbial candidates, testing their efficacy in plant assays to studies of mechanisms involved in disease control

• Diversity and ecology of plant associated beneficial microbes

• Combination of beneficial microbes to obtain complementary or synergistic effects on the ability of plants to tolerate abiotic stress e.g. drought as well to pathogens in agricultural and horticultural crops
