I am postdoc at the centre "TRANSITION – Changing Urban and Rural Lives".
My research is driven by a curiosity about how literature can help us understand the social dimensions of large-scale societal change: How the study of literary fiction can shed light on the everyday consequences and cultural narratives shaped by global capitalism, gentrification, the rural–urban divide, and the wider rise in geographical inequality.
In my PhD "Københavns herskabeliggørelse – gentrificeringsfortællinger i dansk samtidslitteraur" I introduced the fiel of Literary Urban Studies in Denmark through an investigation of how contemporary literature has responded to the city's recent urban development and gentrification.
In my ongoing project "Mobility Tales – Rural-Urban and Urban-Rural migration in Danish Literature" I examine how Danish literature from the 1970s to today has depicted the movement of people, things, and ideas between countryside and city. I explore what motivates such movements, how they are experienced, and how rural and urban places are continuously reshaped through mobility.
