Kort præsentation

Geana Paula Kurita is a Clinical Professor of Anaesthesiology with a Special Focus on Nursing in Pain and Palliative Medicine at the Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Copenhagen. She is also a senior researcher affiliated with the Center for Cancer and Organ Diseases and the Neuroscience Centre at Copenhagen University Hospital - Rigshospitalet.

Professor Kurita began her academic journey at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she graduated as a nurse in 1996 (BNSc). She furthered her education by obtaining degrees in Teaching in Nursing (1997), a Master of Science (2001), and a PhD (2006).

Her primary research interests lie in the areas of pain and palliative care, with a particular focus on patients suffering from both malignant and non-malignant diseases. Her work encompasses various aspects of healthcare delivery models, pain epidemiology, the assessment and management of pain, health-related quality of life, and the long-term effects of opioid treatment. Additionally, Professor Kurita has dedicated significant efforts to developing systematic reviews aimed at improving the consistency of treatment and care by providing evidence-based consensus on beneficial interventions.
