Kort præsentation

My research currently focuses on legal and ethical aspects of medical AI systems. I’m involved in the CLASSICA project, which aims to develop an AI-based surgery support system. I analyse the EU regulatory framework for medical AI systems, in particular the AI Act, Medical Device Regulation and GDPR.

Previously, I studied ethical, legal and social issues in genomics, such as the use of consumers’ health data by consumer genomics companies and informed consent of gamete donors in a genome editing study.

In my research I use both empirical methods (e.g., content analysis, survey) and theorethical approaches. My work has appeared in Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature and EMBO Reports.

I have a background in Biotechnology (MSc, BEng, Warsaw University of Life Sciences) and worked in RNA biology labs. I also hold a Master of Bioethics (University of Leuven) and PhD in Law, Science and Technology (University of Bologna). I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Research Ethics and Bioethics at Uppsala University and Medical Ethics group at Lund University. The latter position was funded by a personal grant awarded by the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare.

I am an associate editor for Research Ethics journal.
