My project examines and maps out the ways in which contemporary Danish cultural policy-making is constructed within an array of formal and informal settings. A collaborative imperative dominates the policy-making and -development within the cultural field where stakeholders are evidently assigned a crucial role in developing cultural policy and legitimizing state legislation. The purpose of my project is to map out how and why within a national context and develop a model for analyzing how cultural policy is conceived in contemporary society.
By focusing on the role of cultural actors and stakeholders affecting the policy-making process, my project will map out: 1) A characterization of the formal and informal negotiation process between actor and state concerning the development and design of cultural policy initiatives, and; 2) Why cultural policy initiatives often are designed with a great deal of accuracy corresponding to the wishes of the actors from the field.

I am currently teaching and examining master’s courses in Cultural Institutions and Cultural Politics as well as Cultural Communication at the Department of Communication at UCPH.
My areas of teaching and supervision include cultural policy and cultural politics, cultural institutions, (new) institutional theory, public governance paradigms, pragmatic sociology, decision-making theory, the Nordic Cultural Model, and (neo)corporatism within the cultural field.
