Kort præsentation

My main research interest is to advance our knowledge about forcing mechanisms of changes in functioning of ecosystems at different spatial and temporal scales. I have a special emphasis on the land-atmosphere exchange processes, studying greenhouse gas and energy flux at the plot, regional and global scale. At the local scale, I use in-situ measurements for improving our understanding of controlling biophysical variables on variability in ecosystem functions, services and properties. At a regional scale, I combine my knowledge gained from the in-situ measurements for up-scaling purposes using earth observation and gridded climate data as input. The up-scaled products are then used to study functioning of ecosystems across spatial and temporal scales. I am not focusing on one specific biogeographical region, but I am interested in how different ecosystems across the globe functions. I have thereby done local and regional scale research from high-arctic to tropical climate zones. For global scale studies, I combine Earth observation methods with dynamic global vegetation models to study drivers of global climatic and environmental change. I aim at disentangle the effect of different drivers on the trends and on the variability in different global change processes. All in all, I hope to improve our understanding of impact of human and climate induced drivers on the complex processes governing the biosphere climate system interactions, and to reduce the uncertainties of our quantifications of these processes at different spatial and temporal scales.
