Min forskning i medicinsk antropologi finder hovedsagelig sted i Afrika. Jeg er forskningsleder på et helt nyt DANIDA finansieret projekt: Promoting Climate Change in a Context of Multiple Crises in Burkina Faso: The role of Civil Servants (2024-2029)  i et samarbejde mellem Københavns Universitet, universitet Joseph Ki-Zerbo i Ouagadougou, SIC/IRSS i Bobo-Dioulasso samt EHESS i Paris. Jeg har også været forskningsleder på projektet EMERGING EPIDEMICS: Improving Preparedness in Burkina Faso , et tværfagligt samarbejdsprojekt mellem Københavns Universitet og forskningsinsitutioner i Burkina Faso, et projekt der ligeledes var financieret af DANIDA. Jeg er desuden partner i projektet CLIMSA (Mitigating Climate Change on Health in Burkina Faso), et samarbejdsprojekt mellem KU og forskningskollegaer i Burkina Faso. Jeg er ligeledes involveret i et projekt i Benin financeret af IDRC, Canada med prof. Anders Dalsgaard som forskningsleder. Dette projekt fokuserer på sundhedskonsekvenser af klimaforandringer i Cotonou-Calavi. Jeg har tidligere arbejdet med flere projekter i Burkina Faso med fokus på sygdomsopfattelser, sundhedssystemer, malariaforebyggelse og HIV/AIDS. I Ghana har jeg været involveret i flere projekter om sundhed og udvikling i urbane områder. Fra 2012-2018 var jeg ansvarlig for et projekt "Fragile Futures: Rural Lives in Times of Conflict", der var finansieret af FFU (Danidas forskningsråd) . Projektet undersøger landbefolkningens opfattelser af staten.

Jeg har ligeledes været tilknyttet et par forsknings- og undervisningsprojekter i henholdsvis Vietnam og Indien og er partner i et helt ny DANIDA (FFU) financeret projekt i Tanzania 'HIMILI PAMOJA. Gendered Encounters in Climate Change Adaptation in Tanzania', der ledes af Britt Tersbøl (SUND).

Aktuel forskning

Jeg er projektleder på et nyt projekt "Promoting Climate Change in a Context of Multiple Crises in Burkina Faso: The role of civil servants", der er støttet af Danida (FFU). Projektet undersøger offentlige ansattes muligheder for at udvikle og gennemføre klimatilpasning i den nuværende situation, hvor klimakrisen overlapper med en sundhedskrise, en politisk krise og en sikkerhedskrise. Projektet søger at styrke forskningskapacitet og projektteamet inkluderer forskere fra Burkina Faso og Danmark (inklusiv 3 PhD studernede og 2 postdocs fra Burkina Faso).
