I am an evolutionary biologist interested in how genetic diversity is generated, maintained, and lost. My research focuses on the short- and long-term genomic consequences of population collapse (genomic erosion) and how this process influences extinction risk and species recovery potential.
I lead the Evolutionary and Conservation Genomics Group, where we integrate (paleo)genomics, evolutionary modelling, and quantitative analyses to study biodiversity loss from a genomic perspective. Our work spans endangered species, museum genomics, and simulations of the evolutionary dynamics underlying genomic erosion.
