Kort præsentation

Jakob Nilsson is Associate Professor at Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, which he joined in 2011. Jakob did his PhD studies in the lab of Professor Jørgen Kjems, University of Aarhus, working on the small GTPase Ran. Following this, he joined Professor Poul Nissens Group, University of Aarhus, and studied structural aspects of the eukaryotic ribosome using cryo-EM. In 2005, he initiated his second Postdoc in the lab of Jonathon Pines at the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge, where he focused on understanding how cells accurately segregate their chromosomes during mitosis. In 2009, he was awarded the Lundbeck Foundation Junior Group Leader Fellowship to establish his own lab at BRIC, University of Copenhagen, focusing on mitotic regulation. In 2011, he moved to Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research where he has continued his work on cell division.
