I'm a PhD student originally from California and did my undergrad at Amherst College then a masters in entomology at UMCE (Chile). My research is focused on the systematics of the subfamily Aleocharinae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) and the development of molecular DNA techniques. Current projects include a comprehensive tribal phylogeny of the Aleocharinae and tests of different museomic DNA extraction methods for use in the group. Future research will include large-scale DNA barcoding and integrative taxonomy of Gondwanan Aleocharines with an emphasis on southern Chile and quantitative testing of cutting-edge barcoding techniques such as hotSHOT extraction.
