I joined the Neuro Metabolism group, at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, in 2014 as a scholarship student and I am currently doing my PhD in the same group. Through my research, I try to elucidate how molecular and cellular changes in brain metabolism are related to the development of neurodegenerative diseases. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary and collaborative projects.
My main research interests include:
- Relationship between brain energy metabolism and neurodegenerative diseases
- Neurotransmitter recycling and metabolism
- Brain metabolism of branched chain amino acids
Kort præsentation
I am interested in the connection between brain signaling, metabolism and pathology. In particular, how molecular and cellular changes in brain metabolism are related to the development of neurodegenerative diseases. I have recently joined the Wellendorph lab where I will investigate the molecular pathology of faulty GABA metabolism in the disease succinate semialdehyde dehydrogenase (SSADH) deficiency.
