Karoline Emilie Søgaard

Karoline Søgaard is  a Phd-fellow at University of Copenhagen, and University College Copenhagen. She is on leave from her position as associate lecturer in EFL didactics in teacher education at University College Copenhagen. Karoline Søgaard has specialized in the field of teaching English to young learners and was a participant in the project ‘Early foreign language learning and plurilingual education’ (2015-2018).

Early foreign language didactics; Intercultural competence in primary EFL through picturebooks.

Her thesis focuses on the development of intercultural competence in young learners through picturebooks with a focus on the attitudinal dimension and empathy. The study has been conducted as a qualitiative, multiple case-study.
