Kort præsentation

I am currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Church History Section at University of Copenhagen. My project Creatures of Sorrow (CROW) explores lay experiences of being mentally unwell in 16th- and 17th century Scandinavia. It asks how social status, gender and age affected experiences of mental states before the modern era. The project uses digital methods to explore mental suffering in a wide group in Scandinavian society.

I have previously worked with questions of physical disability and emotional experiences in early modern Sweden and with religious experiences of the Swedish Reformation in the 16th century.

My main research interests concern bodily and emotional experiences of early modern people and I combine theoretical and methodological development in the history of emotions and experience with my empirical studies of the early modern period in my research.
