I am currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Church History Section at University of Copenhagen. My project Creatures of Sorrow (CROW) explores lay experiences of being mentally unwell in 16^th- and 17^th century Scandinavia. It asks how social status, gender and age affected experiences of mental states before the modern era. The project uses digital methods to explore mental suffering in a wide group in Scandinavian society.

I have previously worked with questions of physical disability and emotional experiences in early modern Sweden and with religious experiences of the Swedish Reformation in the 16^th century.

My main research interests concern bodily and emotional experiences of early modern people and I combine theoretical and methodological development in the history of emotions and experience with my empirical studies of the early modern period in my research.
