Kort præsentation

Mona Chor Bjørn har en PhD grad i Anvendt Økologi og forsker i plante- og plantesamfundsøkologi med fokus på diversificering og restaurering af græslandsvegetation. Hun har en særlig interesse i genopretning, transformation og forvaltning af urteagtige vegetationstyper for at støtte hjemmehørende flora og fauna samt modvirke tab af biodiversitet og negative effekter af urbanisering.

En central del af hendes forskning omhandler økologi og habitatspecialisering hos hjemmehørende arter samt deres funktion i natur- og bymiljøer. De seneste otte år har hun især forsket i naturbaserede løsninger (Lokal afledning af regnvand) og udviklet ny viden om, hvordan disse kan optimeres som levesteder for planter og dyr i byer.

Gennem undervisning og vejledning af studerende bidrager hun til bachelor‑ og kandidatundervisning inden for landskabsarkitektur, naturforvaltning og biologi.
