Dr. Ryan Switzer is a interdisciplinary ethnographer researching the role of emotion in conservative and right-wing movements. He is currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher on the ERC-funded project ANGLE (Anger Legitimised) where he will conducted ethnographic fieldwork with conservative influencers and their audiences in the United States. His project on the emotional economies of platforms asks how charged content is mediated by social industry affordances as it moves from production to consumption.
Ryan completed his doctoral degree in sociology at Stockholm University. He has previously been employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Child and Youth Studies also at Stockholm University.
