Primære forskningsområder

My research focuses on memories and atmospheres as both mundane and political phenomena. I have explored these through ethnographic fieldwork in the Scandinavian countries as well as in Chile, interrogating wider issues of transnational political engagement and urban development in that regard. Recently, my focus has been on the role of remembrance and atmosphere in human-environment relations, and specifically people’s relationships to extreme weather as caused by climate change.

Undervisnings- og vejledningsområder

Since 2015 I have taught extensively in the fields of ethnology, anthropology, and interdisciplinary social science (at the University of Copenhagen, Stockholm University, and Roskilde University respectively), focusing especially on ethnographic methods, theoretical foundations, philosophies of science, as well as on more topic-centered courses on urban design and development. I have also supervised a wide range of student projects, covering issues ranging from kinship in urban Vietnam, policing in the suburbs of Stockholm, gender politics in India, and the spatial order of the Burning Man festival to a host of topics within the broad category of "everyday life" in the Nordic region.
