Kort præsentation

I am an Associate Professor in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Copenhagen. Research areas include new dramaturgical paradigms in contemporary theatre and performance, the relation between art and politics, war and aesthetics, performance and archives, and contemporary performance and climate crisis. I have just completed a book manuscript on  documentary art and contemporary war. The book engages with the ways in which contemporary artists both seek to document and bring to public perception various instances of war and conflict, while at the same time creating imaginative worlds that go beyond prevailing logics of war. The book includes case studies by artists such as Rabih Mroué, Arkadi Zaides, Center for Spatial Art, Milo Rau, Hito Steyerl, Laura Poitras, Trevor Paglen, Richard Mosse,  Candice Breitz, Christian Lollike & Corpus, and Lola Arias.

Related to the book project, I was a member of the Velux-funded collective research projects Conflict of Images – Images of Conflict (2017-21) and Aesthetics and War (2018-22).

I am co-editor of the books (W)Archives: Archival Imaginaries, War, and Contemporary Art (with Daniela Agostinho, Nanna Bonde Thylstrup and Kristin Veel), published by Sternberg Press/MIT Press, 2021, and  War and Aesthetics: Art, Technology, and the Futures of Warfare (with Jens Bjering, Christine Strandmose Toft, and Anders Engberg-Pedersen), published by MIT Press, 2024. I am author of the monograph Intervention og kunst: Sociale og politiske strategier i samtidskunsten, published by Politisk revy in 2010. My research has appeared in journals such as Performance Research, TDR: The Drama Review, Nordic Theatre Studies, Nordic Journal of Aesthetics, The Journal of War and Culture Studies, K&K, Passage, Peripeti, and Kritik.

I am currently co-PI in the Velux funded collective research project "Oikos: Care and Crisis in the 21st Century".

I also work as a dramaturge. For the past years I have primarily collaborated with Elisa Kragerup at the Betty Nansen Theatre. Between 2008 and 2014 I was a dramaturge at the Royal Danish Theatre, where I collaborated with artists such as Elisa Kragerup, Rune David Grue, Christian Lollike, Madame Nielsen, Anders Paulin, Michael Thalheimer, and Christoph Marthaler. 

Recently, I dramaturged the production Folkeviser at the Betty Nansen Theatre, where I am also on the artistic board.

Before joining UCPH as an associate professor I was an Associate Professor at the Department of Dramaturgy at Aarhus University (2016-19), and from 2019-2020 she was a professor at The Danish National School for Performing Arts

Teaching at BA-level includes course in Theatre History, Performance Analysis and Complex Dramaturgy - and at MA-level Theoretical and Analytical Methods and Contexts as well as Research Practices within Theatre and Performance Studies.
