Kort præsentation

Thomas Jespersen, Professor at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, specializes in investigating pathological changes in cardiac structure and electrophysiology that lead to cardiac dysfunction and arrhythmias, driven by common life-style risk factors such as sleep apnea, metabolic disorders (obesity) and vascular disorders.

Jespersen leads a comprehensive translational research program that integrates human studies, in vivo and ex vivo large animal and rodent models, with detailed cellular, histological and molecular analyses. Through advanced cardiac imaging techniques including MRI, elastography and electro-anatomical mapping, his work provides crucial insights into how cardiac structural and electrical remodeling lead to arrythmia development and maintenance.

Jespersen has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and collaborates extensively with researchers worldwide. His contributions to the field are recognized through his involvement in various research projects and publications.
