N2 - Sexual behavior is influenced by biology, psychology, interpersonal relationships, and culture. The investigation and diagnosis of sexual dysfunctions require an exploratory and holistic approach where the health professional includes the whole patient together with their interactions with others (Levine, J Sex Med 4:853–54, 2007; Lipshultz et al., Management of sexual dysfunction in men and women: An interdisciplinary approach, 2016). In this chapter, we describe the essential concepts in diagnosing male sexual dysfunctions. We demonstrate the basics in history-taking presenting general principles in the communication process and present the central components in the physical examination.
