Evaluation Report: The UCPH Forward Talent Program

Introduction
In this report, I present findings from my analysis of open-ended survey responses pertaining
to the UCPH Forward program at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). More specifically, I
explore the first two iterations of the program. UCPH Forward is a 1-year talent program
developed for UCPH-based researchers to strengthen their academic career and skillset while
also establishing a peer network (Copenhagen 2019). The first iteration of the program took
place in 2019 and will be referred to as Round 1 throughout the report. The second iteration
took place in 2020 and 2021 as it was extended due to COVID-19 regulations and will be
referred to as Round 2 in the report. Each round of the program comprises of a series of sessions
in which participants learn of different topics such as ‘time management’, ‘coaching and
personal feedback’ or ‘fundraising’. Following each session, surveys were distributed to the
participants to evaluate their experience with the contents of the session and at times to reflect
on their personal development in the program. A final survey, what will be termed ‘exit survey’
was then distributed after the last session, asking participants to evaluate their general
experiences with the program and its contents.
