Abstract

This article explores 6 different contemporary accounts of the arrest of the Damascene governor, Amir Karay in 1311 AD. The article argues that each chronicler who wrote about the event framed it to reflect his own ideological agenda and support his personal strategic quest for recognition and socio-political influence.
