title = "MicroRNAs in Drosophila Cancer Models",
abstract = "MiRNAs are post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression which have been implicated in virtually all biological processes. MiRNAs are frequently dysregulated in human cancers. However, the functional consequences of aberrant miRNA levels are not well understood. Drosophila is emerging as an important in vivo tumor model, especially in the identification of novel cancer genes. Here, we review Drosophila studies which functionally dissect the roles of miRNAs in tumorigenesis. Ultimately, these advances help to understand the implications of miRNA dysregulation in human cancers.",
