Abstract
We have been investigating electrokinetic (EK) transport of fluids and macromolecules through individual fabricated channels that are confined to depths as small as 80 nm. Experimental measurement of electroosmotic mobilities under electrical double layer (EDL) overlap conditions was compared to existing theories. The characteristics of electroosmotic transport under electrical double layer overlap conditions was used to generate hydraulic pressures and to size dsDNA molecules in free solution.
