Mycenaean wood: Re-thinking the function of furniture in the Pylos Ta tablets within Bronze Age sacrificial practices

This paper unravels the complex connections between the Linear B tablets of the Ta series, other archaeological remains from same find spot, faunal remains, and artefacts from Bronze Age Pylos. Also, this paper argues that the furniture on the Ta tablets has a ritual and sacrificial function. Finally, it re-evaluates some linguistic interpretative proposals and, hypothesises a new interpretation for Mycenaean we-a2-re-jo/we-a-re-ja.
