Abstract
The paper discusses the outcome(s) of the sequence PIE *CR̥HC in Latin. New etymologies for Lat. parra ‘a bird’, palla ‘garment’, gallus ‘rooster’, marra ‘mattock’, and sam(p)sa ‘pomace’ corroborate the development of *CŔ̥HC to Lat. CaR(a)C.
