Abstract

Background: Selective dry cow treatment has been a legal requirement since the beginning of 2022. However, there are still many challenges and unanswered questions regarding its implementation on farms. Clinical relevance: A transition to selective dry cow treatment must be accompanied by an effective minimisation of existing infection risks after drying off. In addition, it should be designed in a pragmatic and uncomplicated way and be adapted to farm-specific conditions.
