Småordsadverbialer som løst fundament

This paper presents an analysis of a group of mono-lexemic adverbials in the syntactic position ‘loose fundament’ (løst fundament, LF), or ‘Extra-left position’, as in som sagt så kan man ændre sin tale ‘as said, (then) you can change your way of speaking’. The paper shows that this construction is common in spoken Danish, and that certain types of adverbials are more likely to occur as LF than others. The results are discussed considering other studies of comparable analyses of the LF construction in Swedish.
