Abstract
Adverse reactions are one of the leading causes of death, hence understanding the underlying mechanisms at an individual level is one of the most important and long-standing challenges in personalized medicine. However, little is known about how variability in receptor drug targets affects drug response. Elucidating how genetic variants influence ligand binding, signaling and, ultimately, therapeutic effects is vital and could serve as the next important step in the field of pharmacogenomics.
