Landscape and Ritual in Early Bronze Age in Jordan

Activity: Talk or presentation typesLecture and oral contribution

Description

The lecture gave an overview of the preceding Late Chalcolithic period, particularly the socio-political organisation, as expressed in prestige items, metal production and ritual paraphernalia. The Early Bronze Age I site of Murayghat was introduced and discussed in combining ritual, landscape and monuments. This showed that the many standing stone structures and dolmens, as well as other finds, indicate the special character of the site.
