Anders Bach Pedersen is a Ph.D.-student at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies at Copenhagen University. He is currently writing his dissertation on music genres on TikTok exploring interwoven aesthetic, economic and political situations conjoining in emergent platform music. His latest contribution to the field is the article “Music or Noise: Spotify’s Aesthetic Hegemony” written with Johan Lau Munkholm published in the journal K&K in December 2024. He has several other publications within the fields of electronic music, generative systems, aesthetics and politics, and is interested in expanding the approaches to genre and style within musicology, cultural studies and platform studies.

Besides his academic work, Anders is a prominent composer, record producer and drummer on the Danish music popular and experimental music scenes for the past 15 years. He has gained both national and international renown through his collaborations and touring with a broad range of artists including MØ, Keiji Haino, Peter Sommer, Sleep Party People and Selvhenter. Further, he manages the record label Wetwear and currently composes music for the video game entitled “Esoteric Ebb”.
