Personal profile

Short presentation

I hold a MSc degree in environmental engineering from Lund University, faculty of engineering. My research interests are mainly in coastal morphology and climate adaptation and protection in the coastal zone. My research focuses on climate adaptation of near-coastal roads and railroads. Coastal roads and railroads are threatened by flooding and erosion risks that are expected to increase by rising sea levels due to climate change. To analyze the climate risks that threaten the coastal transport infrastructure systems and enable sustainable planning and maintenance, increased knowledge of coastal processes is required for both long-term changes and extreme storm scenarios. The project aims to develop and test methods for risk assessments regarding flooding and erosion in a changing climate, as well as investigate potential measures for coastal protection with regard to protecting roads and railways. My PhD project is a double degree collaboration between Lund university (host) and University of Copenhagen (partner). The project hopes to improve the knowledge exchange between Sweden and Denmark in coastal related issues, and benefit the project as the countries have similar hydrodynamic and morphological conditions in the coastal areas.
