Personal profile

Short presentation

I am currently holding a Postdoc position at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Section of Metabolic Genetics, where I will investigate the genetic influence on incretin levels in the development of type 2 diabetes.

I graduated the PhD-programme in February 2011 with the thesis “Genetic Variants and the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes” in the laboratory of Leif Groop at Lund University Diabetes Centre. The main focus of my studies has been to follow up on recently performed whole genome association studies and test the ability of genetic variants to predict future type 2 diabetes as well as to explore the mechanisms by which they increase the risk of the disease. The methods have been statistical analysis on population level and also meta-analyses of several large studies.
