Anne Rasmussen is a Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen and the Department of Political Economy at King's College London. She previously worked at the universities of Leiden and Bergen, and currently serves as a member of the executive board of the European Consortium for Political Research where she chairs its publication committee.

Her current research analyzes interest groups, political representation, perceptions of public opinion, democratic deliberation, citizen engagement, public policy, social media, gender, citizen engagement and political parties. She was the Principal Investigator of the GovLis Project, the first large-scale attempt to connect the study of political representation and interest groups by linking data on interest groups, public opinion, and decision-making across a large set of countries, funded by personal grants from the Danish and Dutch Political Science Foundations. Currently, she's the PI of an ERC consolidator grant: "Advocacy in Digital Democracy: Use, Impact & Democratic consequences" and a project on Social Media and Political Representation funded by the Danish Research Council. Previously her research received support from organizations such as the European Commission, the European Consortium for Political Research, the British Council, the European Science Foundation and the Danish and Dutch Research Councils. Anne Rasmussen is a co-editor of Interest Groups and Advocacy and member of the editorial boards of the Journal of European Public Policy, the Journal of Public Policy, Acta Politica, & the Journal of European Integration. Her work appears in several journals, including:
She has extensive experience communicating her research to a broader audience through written, audio, and television media, including the BBC, TRT World, the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), Politiken, Berlingske and Jyllands-Posten. She has also presented her research to several prominent institutions, including the UK and Danish Parliaments, and has served on (government) advisory bodies.
She has taught courses on interest representation, public policy, comparative politics, research design and methods, European Union politics and policy, and economics.
