• Vidensorganisationens grundlæggende begreber og teori. Forskellige teoretiske og teknologiske tilgange til vidensorganisation og disse tilganges filosofiske grundlag og historiske udvikling. Vidensorganisation i forskellige domæner.
• Informationsvidenskabens grundlæggende begreber og teori.
• Informationsvidenskabelig analyse af vidensdomæner. 
• Skriftlig kommunikation og faglitteratur. Dokumenttypologi.
• Sociokulturel, pragmatisk og virksomhedsteoretisk psykologi og social semiotik (især begrebsteori og sprogteori) og disse teoriers anvendelse i BDI-området. (Kognitive og sproglige processer i mennesker, maskiner, videnskaber og samfund).

Ph.d-vejledning, undervisning i vidensorganisation og domæneteori, videnskabelig kommunikation og dokumenttypologi.

1990 - 2001: Head of Department of "Science and Humanities Information Studies" at RSLIS.

1983 - 1986: External lecturer at the University of Copenhagen, Institute of Applied and Mathematical Linguistics. (Additional job).

1984: Degree in library science from RSLIS: Research librarians and documentalists.

1978 - 1990: Research Librarian at the Royal National Library in Copenhagen. Coordinator of the computer based reference services.

1974: MA in psychology, the University of Copenhagen.

1972 - 1975: Documentalist in the NORDDOK-17 project. Training in documentation in Stockholm.

1973 - 1978: Lecturer in the Department of Reference and Documentation at the RSLIS. Participated in the introduction of information science.

Primary fields of research

Mine forskningsaktiviteter kan løbende aflæses via mine publikationer. Indenfor Institut for Informationsstudier er der p.t. tre forskningsprogrammer, hvor min indsats ligger i de to: "Domæneanalyse og informetriske studier" og i "Komparative studier i vidensorganisation".
