Personal profile

Short presentation

I have worked in bacteriology research since 2013 starting with a master and PhD.

Currently, I work on projects related to biocide susceptibility, and I am investigating the risk of biocide transformation and degradation products driving selection of bacteria containing biocide resistance genes.

During the PhD, I worked on projects involving latent infections with Streptococcus in horses, characterizing the formation of bacterial persister cells. Further, I investigated the potential of the bacteria to invade epithelial cell lines and did semi-quantitative estimates using fluorescent microscopy. A smaller study was conducted on isolation and propagation of primary cells from the endometrium of mares.
