Claus Thustrup Kreiner is Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for Economic Behavior and Inequality (CEBI) at the University of Copenhagen. He is also co-editor of the Journal of Public Economics and Area Director of Public Economics in the CESifo network. He received the PhD degree in Economics in 1998 and became full professor in 2005. Most of his research has centered on Public Economics, but he has also published research in many other areas. His work with colleagues at CEBI, Columbia University, London School of Economics and UC Berkeley includes articles in American Economic Review, Econometrica, PNAS, Economic Journal, Journal of Public Economics and the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy dealing with inequality in income, wealth and health, optimal redistribution policy and behavioral responses to public policy. Claus Thustrup Kreiner was member of the Danish 2008-2009 Tax Commission and co-chair of the Danish Economic Council (vismand) 2010-2014.
