Ditte Marie Lindhardt Saunte is Consultant and Associate Professor at the Department of Allergy, Dermatology and Venerology, Herlev & Gentofte University Hospital and the Department of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She received her PhD in 2008 with a focus on the epidemiology of dermatophytes and the establishment of an animal model. She was elected as a board member of the EADV in 2020 and has been actively involved in the dermatological community since 2004. She was a board member of the Nordic Society for Medical Mycology from 2004 to 2022 and has been co-chair of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Task Force on Mycology since 2015, becoming chair in 2021.
DM Saunte has chaired the Danish Dermatological Society's guideline committee for hidradenitis suppurativa since 2016, and has also chaired the Danish Dermatological Society's guidelines for superficial fungal infections since 2011. In her role as chair of the dermatology course at the University of Copenhagen, she is responsible for supervising bachelor's, master's and PhD students. Her research focuses on hidradenitis suppurativa, epidemiology, comorbidity, medical and laser treatment and superficial fungal infections.
