Short presentation

Dorte Sindbjerg Martinsen researches in EU integration and Europeanisation, focusing on welfare policies, free movement of persons, the dynamics between law and politics in the EU as well as implementation, enforcement and compliance with EU policies. 

Martinsen work has been published in Comparative Political Studies, Public Administration, Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of Common Market Studies, West European Politics and European Union Politics among other journals and in 2015 her book An Ever More Powerful Court? The Political Constraints of Legal Integration in the European Union with Oxford University Press. 

Dorte Sindbjerg Martinsen is co-editor of West European Politics. Dorte is part of the Research Centre of Excellence MOBILE, placed at the faculty of law, which examines legal infrastructures of human mobility. 

Dorte Sindbjerg Martinsen has a higher doctorate (dr.scient.pol.) from University of Copenhagen (2015) and a Ph.D. (2004) from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. She has a master in Political Science (cand.scient.pol) from University of Copenhagen (1999) and a MSc in European politics and policy from London School of Economics and Political Science, Government Department (1997).
