I am the head of the Applied Algebra research group at the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Our research focuses on problems in applied algebraic geometry, and specifically in the study of positive solutions to parametric systems of polynomial equations. Our motivation arises from the mathematical study of interaction networks, mainly on understanding their properties at equilibrium.
I hold a PhD in Mathematics (2007), from the Universitat de Barcelona, in the area of Arakelov Geometry/Algebraic K-theory. Furthermore, I hold a Master in Bioinformatics (2008) from the Universitat de Barcelona and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. I have been working in my current research area since 2010.
I teach primarily the following two courses:
Applied algebra, real algebraic geometry, positivity, mathematical biology, reaction networks
Danish and English (fluent)
Spanish and Catalan (native)
