The primary field of investigation for the PhD project is social media users who identifies as both Jewish and non-Jewish, and their practices on social media, where the issue of antisemitism is particularly prevalent. Specifically, the project seeks to explore how antisemitic content is experienced by the recipient - both Jewish and non-Jewish individuals. With a focus on the recipients' experience of antisemitism, the aim is to develop a language for how the argumentative logic and coded forms of antisemitism manifest and function on social media, how they are decoded and situated by the recipient, and what implications this has for the recipients and the surrounding society they are part of.
