Personal profile

Short presentation

I am currently in the final year of my PhD at the Section of General Practice. I have a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Copenhagen. My PhD project examines breast cancer screening, with a specific focus on false-positive results and overdiagnosis. I employ a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods including ethnographic approaches to explore the implications for individuals as well as how potential harm is negotiated in clinical practice.

My primary research interests include:

  • Medical screening: ethical implications and potential harm
  • Overdiagnosis
  • The qualitative experience of participating in health prevention programs
  • Diagnosis and disease classifications
  • Direct-to-consumer medicine
  • Direct-to-consumer advertising on social media

I am a member of the scientific committee and currently serve as the chair of the Early and Mid-Career Researchers Group for Preventing Overdiagnosis.

I teach biostatistics to master’s students and critical appraisal of medical literature to postgraduate doctors training to become general practitioners.
