My research delves into the challenges encountered by teenage mothers in Sierra Leone. The primary research question explores the interplay between tradition, religion and evolving social norms, shedding light on how these factors impact the sexual and reproductive rights of pregnant girls and teenage mothers. The study is based on 11-months of ethnographic fieldwork, employing the life histories of young mothers, formal and informal interviews with family and community members to understand how young girls situate themselves in different spaces before, during and after motherhood.
